Breakfast Lecture No. 2
“A day in the Economic Crime Division”
Adrian Hale – Guernsey Border Agency.
Adrian will give an overview of all of the divisions of the Economic Crime Division:-
1. Financial Intelligence Service
2. Financial Crime Team
3. International Confiscation and Asset Recovery Team
He will give an overview of each team and some case studies of how the teams fight financial crime and terrorism.
Adrian Hale is the Head of AML/CFT Policy and Compliance for the Financial Intelligence Service. He has 29 years service in the Guernsey Border Agency started in general administration, progressing to a uniformed officer on the border controls and then an investigation officer.
Promoted to Senior Investigation Officer in 2000 and moved to the Financial Intelligence Service (FIS) until 2005 when he moved to the role of a Senior Officer of a border controls team until 2009. Adrian moved back to the Financial Investigation Unit in 2009 and was promoted to his current role in 2017.
Adrian has significant experience in the SAR regime and financial crime generally including non conviction based asset forfeiture (Civil Forfeiture) and Sanctions related cases.
